Making friends in the Galapagos

We celebrated our 4 month travel anniversary while in Colombia, traveling from Hacienda Guayabal (a coffee plantation near the small town of Chinchina) to Cartagena. Here’s what we’ve got for month 4:

• Countries visited: 3
• Beds slept in: 9
• Long distance bus rides: 2
• Rental cars: 0 (Have you seen how they drive in Peru?  No way was I going to venture that gauntlet.)
• Flights: 9 (we’ve started hopping around to fit in every last bit of South America before our trip across the ocean to Turkey)
• Favorite “hotel” (splurge): The Beluga (our Galapagos boat)
• Favorite hotel (normal): 3Bs Barranco in Lima, Peru
• Miles traveled: 5,029
