It’s been nine amazing months of travel.  In the last month we took a road trip around Bali on a scooter, thought seriously about just staying on Nusa Lembongan, failed to obtain our India visa in Bangkok and rekindled our love for Chiang Mai (also, we succeeded in getting our India visa in Chiang Mai).

• Favorite splurge hotel: Batur Mountain View.  This place was just outside of the village of Kintamani on Bali.  Kintamani is an awkward mix of pretty aggressive hawker-types and amazing views of the volcano and crater in the distance.  The hotel was a tiny oasis with a stunning view, great rooms, good food and, last but not least, no hawkers.
